In June, John Laughland, FVD International’s director, gave a lecture in Oslo about immigration which he described as ‘an industry’. In that talk, he drew on a number of statistics Tom Russcher MP had used in a speech in the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament shortly beforehand. Tom has now returned to the theme with a spectacular to-camera video about the migration industry. The figures are mind-blowing but so too is the racketeering – hundreds of millions spent on hotels for asylum seekers at way over the market rate, for instance. Migration may have underlying economic causes – high tax on labour in Europe, sinking standards of living in the third world – but it is also driven by colossal sums of subsidy which feeds a whole galaxy of lobbyists and profiteers from migration. Take those payments away and you will cut the immigration industry at its very root.

The invasion of Ceuta by tens of thousands of Africans at the end of July may have been a destabilisation operation organised by Morocco to punish Spain for its anti-Israeli stance in foreign policy. Whatever the truth, the fact is that the event symbolises Europe’s inability, or lack of desire, to stop this invasion. Spain has recently decided to legalise over 1 million illegal immigrants and this of course (as with previous waves of naturalisation) only sucks in more: if you can physically get into Spanish territory, you will be regularised sooner or later. Moreover, you will be able to travel all over Europe and reside wherever you like because of Schengen and EU rules. Tom Russcher MP and Ralf Dekker MP (who will take over as chairman of the parliamentary party while Lidewij de Vos is on maternity leave) have tabled a series of questions to the Dutch government about this event and what it intends to do about it. But we already know the answer – nothing.

What are the underlying causes of this mass movement of people? Economics and subsidies are a big cause, but there are deeper factors too. Europe has simply lost the will to defend itself and, no doubt, the will to exist. This is what Stefan Korte argues in a piece we are honoured to publish in English. Korte is convinced that immigration is the consequence of Europe’s moral and spiritual collapse – and of a deformed understanding of Christianity which, he urges, never supported the disappearance of nations and instead has always wanted to see them preserved in their respective countries.

Stanslav Krapivnik was our guest on The Forum this week – he is becoming a regular, as is John Laughland on Stanislav’s own podcast, In the Eyes of Truth. Stanislav was born in Donetsk, emigrated to the USA when he was a boy, joined the US army and then returned to Russia where he now lives. He has argued for some time that Russia will win and is winning the war. John was keen to pin him down, for instance of the recent spectacular attacks on ‘Wildberries’ warehouses all over Russia. Stanislav argues that of course these attacks are damaging but that they are achieved at very great cost to Ukraine – each attack requires a huge number of drones, the vast majority of which are shot down with machine guns. In other words, huge numbers of drones costing tens of thousands of dollars each are shot down for a few hundred dollars. Stanislav also argues that the destruction of Ukraine’s ports will throttle the Ukrainian economy and probably produce severe food shortages around the world as well. Finally, he broke a fascinating piece of news: there are ‘partisans’ operating deep inside Ukraine, undertaking subversive actions like blowing up locomotives. Moreover, some of these partisans are Ukrainian nationalists who want to get rid of Zelensky. All this bodes very ill for the future civil war in Ukraine once the war with Russia is over.
