30 Years After Maastricht
The Maastricht summit took two fateful decisions which were to affect the continent for a generation. The creation of the Euro currency and the recognition of the independence of Croatia and Slovenia and thus the break up of Yugoslavia. The single currency and the destruction of Yugoslavia were both geopolitical acts designed to push hard into the gap which was opening up with the collapse of Russian power. Built in the Cold War and dramatically enlarged after the end of it, the EU is nothing but an American bridgehead on the European continent.

Russian Invasion of Ukraine
For some weeks now, we have been told that Russia is about to invade Ukraine. However, the same governments now warning that Russia is about to invade Ukraine in 2022 said that Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014. But if Russia had already invaded in 2014 or 2015, then how can it now be about invade again in 2022? If you have already invaded a country and still have troops there, you cannot ‘invade’ it again. The warnings of an imminent invasion are a means of putting maximum pressure on the Germans not to formalize the opening of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

How can it be that the most liberal countries in the world have suddenly become the most authoritarian Covid dictatorships?
How is it possible that western democracies have become so authoritarian recently? This has not just happend over night, and it is not just Covid. It is the result of decades of the nanny state and how they operated in previous so called 'crises'. More state power was always the result and the people just stood by and watched it happen.

Bravest among the Braves: The Poles defend Europe against the European Union
The Polish Constitutional Court has ruled that they have legal precedence over the European Court of Justice. This is the latest move in a series of conflicts between the member state Poland and the western counterparts. At the basis of this conflict lies a difference in ideology between fundamental social institutions such as the classical family, personal propriety, national identity or Western civilisation and radical leftist ideas such as multiculturalism, gender mainstreaming, LGBTQ-ideology, globalism, debt-culture and Western guilt.

Sanitary discourse of the Nazis

Billionaire Socialism
In August 2020, the Christian publicist Rod Dreher wrote in the American Conservative: “Many conservatives still operate under a badly outdated framework that holds Big Business to be fundamentally conservative. The idea, a Randian one, is that Business is the antagonist to Government. Conservatives have long sided naturally with Business. Well, guess what? Big Business is now on the other side. It is arguably more a threat to conservative values than the state.”

The historic humiliation of the US in Afghanistan
When in 1842 the British negotiated safe passage for 4,500 soldiers and 12,000 civilians out of Kabul - they took the decision to withdraw from Afghanistan because the shah they had installed in power in 1839 was struggling in vain against an ever more dangerous and violent insurrection waged by the defeated regime - the rebels agreed.

What is to be done?
Many conservatives in the West still indulge in the mistaken idea that the fundamental transformation of our civilisation, which is only just beginning, can still be halted or even reverted by traditional political instruments. It would suffice for Parliament and government, they claim, to return to moderately conservative opinions for some years to put everything alright again.
