France has become tawdry, as FVD International director, John Laughland, explained in an RT interview this week. Apart from its explicit Satanism and moronic determination to shock, the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics was the product of a petty and provincially-minded artistic élite obsessed with everything foreign. From Lady Gaga to Aya Nakamura and even Céline Dion, Marina Viotti and Axelle Saint-Cirel (one of the few performers who had a beautiful voice) the artists were all partly or wholly from abroad. Even the fat Lesbian who sat in the middle of the grotesque tableau vivant of the Dionysian last supper has a Moroccan father. And yet all this supposed exoticism leads inexorably back to the same inevitable trite Leftism – Barbara Butch works, inter alia, for an organisation welcoming migrants. The Olympic ceremony was anything but Olympian. It was instead little but a re-run of that epitome of trash, the Eurovision song contest, which was won 10 years ago, in 2014, by a bearded lady, Conchita Wurst - himself an unconscious imitation of the character Brüno brilliantly parodied by Sasha Baron-Cohen in 2009. Yes, the devil wears Prada - and, as such, Old Nick has become naff, conformist and – God! – so predictable.

The freak show in Paris has obscured the memory - although it is very recent - of the ongoing freak show which is American politics. The ‘greatest democracy on earth’ has seen one candidate nearly assassinated and another pushed out in a palace coup to be replaced by a woman who embodies, even more than Ursula von der Leyen and Kaja Kallas, the tendency of modern democracies to promote mind-numbing mediocrities and to destroy people of originality and courage: Kamala Harris is certainly ‘unburdened’ by intellect. In Europe, originality and courage are embodied by Viktor Orban, in America by his friend, Donald Trump. Unlike Trump, Orban has managed not only to wield power for over a decade but also to create his own ‘deep state’ within his own country: the language of mere populist revolt is no doubt not enough for a proper national strategy. John Laughland was interviewed on TNT radio last week to discuss these latest developments on the other side of the Atlantic.

The fates of Europe and America are inextricably linked because Europe is a military protectorate of America. There can never be any European sovereignty until this changes. And will it ever change? Stephen Baskerville is not optimistic because the choice of a welfare state over a warfare state is a civilisational choice for matriarchy over patriarchy. A continent which makes its elite army corps jive to African writhings and which promotes sexual freaks when show-casing its national culture is no patriarchy.

On The Forum this week, we were honoured to host Danny Carroll to talk about German New Medicine, which holds that all illnesses, including even cancer, have a mental origin. (Maybe there is a political message here, too.)
